Cloof produces intense, bold-flavoured wines from grapes grown under extreme conditions. Among its products are a Decanter 5 Star Award winner, a Champion Pinotage and numerous airline selections. In addition to their very popular Gourmet BBQs Cloof are now offering weekday lunches at the cellars. Lunches are served from 11h00 until 14h00 (booking is preferred, especially for groups of 10 or more). These will vary, but will initially consist of various ravioli or wraps, accompanied by freshly picked organic greens from our own garden.

Over flower-covered hills and red dirt roads surrounding Darling lies Kraalbosdam. This historic farm, in existence since 1832, has been restored to its original glory by the creative couple Barry & Anet Burger.

The old “waenhuis” has been transformed into the KRAALBOSDAM RESTAURANT & VENUE which can comfortably accommodate 150 guests. The old stables has been converted into a little church complete with a “traporrel”, candles and stained glass windows that give a unique old worldly setting.

We specialise in presenting a complete package for weddings: from flowers to décor to delicious country cuisine and of course the finest wines. We also strive to accommodate any function or business conference and will tend to your every need.

During flower season it is a delight to wander into the Klipberg mountain to admire the wide variety of flowers and fynbos unique to the farm. The historic Hildebrandt Monument, which is where the most Southern Anglo Boer War battle took place in South Africa, is also situated on the farm.

The lodge affords you comfortable, private accommodation in one of four double en-suite bedrooms, each tastefully furnished with hand-embroidered linen and goose-down duvets.

Modern country cuisine is served in the restaurant or on the patio overlooking the swimming pool under an old Oak tree. Trinity Lodge is the perfect functions venue, ideally suited for weddings and parties.

Come and experience for yourself the wonderful wines from the Darling area at a series of wine tastings and gourmet dinners held periodically throughout the year. Wine tastings usually hosted by the wine makers or owners of the labels and will be followed by a four course dinner with specially selected wines to complement the menu.

All accommodation is situated alongside a picturesque dam that was created for waterbirds and also serves as a watering hole for game such as springbok, eland and zebra that wander freely between the cottages. The mountain ranges in the background provide a breathtaking view, particularly at sunset. Couple this with the enfolding sounds of the veld to create a restful atmosphere not often experienced nowadays.

The guest house is fully equipped with a large family kitchen, recreation rooms and a conference room with projector. Each of the cottages is also neatly furnished with a bathroom, kitchen and braai facilities.

West Coast Estate is the ideal venue for conferences, parties, weddings, teambuilding or any other special occasion. Groups ranging from 6 persons per cottage to up to 40 people in the cottages and guesthouse together can be accommodated – the rustic camping area could accommodate a further 60 people for larger groups.
