Guest House
This renovated old farm cottage offers three bedrooms, each with two single beds. During cool winter evenings a large open fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere in the fully equipped kitchen. In addition all rooms have floor heating, except the two bathrooms. The sheltered terrace offers magnificent views over the Atlantic Ocean. The !Khwa ttu restaurant can be reached in walking distance of five minutes.
The guest house accommodates up to six guests.
Bush House
The bush house is situated amidst bush vegetation. Although the house is without electricity our guests can still enjoy the comfort of solar lighting, warm water and a cooking stove and small refrigerator both run by gas. The bush house contains a kitchen/dining room with an open fireplace and two bedrooms, each with two single beds. The semi-outdoor bathroom offers unforgettable warm shower experience. The !Khwa ttu restaurant is just a five-minute drive away. The bush house is meant for the more adventurous guest, who prefers a little more comfort than camping.
The bush house sleeps four adults and a sleeper coach could be used by children.
Bush Camp
This unique tented camp is located within an idyllic bushland setting. The permanent tents are snuggled in under a protective pole-roof structure with a small semi-round patio at the entrance. Solar-lit walkways lead to beautiful and unique ablution facilities. The circular, semi-roofed boma [enclosure] invites our guests to have barbeques at the central campfire. The !Khwa ttu restaurant will be able to satisfy any catering needs. The bush camp is constructed with locally available material, blends splendidly in with the surrounding natural environment.
Each tent accommodates four guests and groups of up to 20 people can be housed in the five tents.

The dormitory has been built in the style of an old farmhouse on the slopes of one of !Khwa ttu’s picturesque hills. The building houses four rooms each with a separate entrance and two common bathrooms with showers. The adjacent recreation room is equipped with a pool table and TV/DVD. A volleyball court is also available. The !Khwa ttu restaurant will be able to satisfy any catering needs. The dormitory offers ideal facilities for school, student and youth groups, as well as for workshop participants. The dormitory sleeps up to 20 guests. |

| Thought Cottage |

| address: |
5 Langeveldt View, Vygie Street, Darling, 7345 |
|
|
|
Situated on the edge of Darling, Thought Cottage is nestled amongst the indigenous Renosterveld in the Langeveldt View complex. Perfect for two, comfortable for six and stretching to a gathering of eight, this green-roofed, white walled,self-catering cottage is a wonderful holiday getaway.
Downstairs is the open plan kitchen (fully equipped in case the collection of fine restaurants in the village don’t appeal) with a lounge complete with fireplace for rainy winter nights and couches that you can spend the day wallowing in watching Ngunis graze contentedly in the neighbouring field. An en-suite double room and twin bedroom lend themselves to blissful nights under pure cotton duvets, with electric blankets to warm beds on those chilly winter nights. A second bathroom is to be found adjacent to the twin bedroom. A spiral staircase leads upwards to the loft room with a double bedroom area on one side and a lounge area on the other. The couch here doubles as a comfy sleeper couch and the bookcase crammed with easy weekend reading makes this a most delightful space in which to while away the hours.
Step out onto the balcony with a glass of fine local wine at sunset and watch the sun slip behind the hills, stay out there a little bit longer and lose track of time counting the stars in the heavens above. A verandah with built-in braai leads out to an indigenous garden which come springtime delights the senses with a riot of wild flowers. Relax out in the garden where birds abound and a tortoise or two may pass through. Unwind and absorb the vista that extends uninterrupted towards the horizon.
So don’t delay, come spend a day, a week, a month indulging in the niceness that is country living. Slow down, breathe deeply, and let your thoughts wander ... |

|
| address: |
R27 West Coast Road opposite Jakkalsfontein |
|
|
|
West Coast Estate is a guestfarm situated at the Vyge Valley Farm stall alongside the R27 West Coast Road, just across from Jakkalsfontein. The guestfarm consists of a guesthouse that can sleep up to 16 persons and 4 cottages each sleeping 6. The camping area makes provision for 15 stands for tents with facilities including hot water and electricity.
All accommodation is situated alongside a picturesque dam that was created for waterbirds and also serves as a watering hole for game such as springbok, eland and zebra that wander freely between the cottages. The mountain ranges in the background provide a breathtaking view, particularly at sunset. Couple this with the enfolding sounds of the veld to create a restful atmosphere not often experienced nowadays.
The guest house is fully equipped with a large family kitchen, recreation rooms and a conference room with projector. Each of the cottages is also neatly furnished with a bathroom, kitchen and braai facilities.
West Coast Estate is the ideal venue for conferences, parties, weddings, teambuilding or any other special occasion. Groups ranging from 6 persons per cottage to up to 40 people in the cottages and guesthouse together can be accommodated – the rustic camping area could accommodate a further 60 people for larger groups.
Although the accommodation units are all fully equipped for self-catering, the farmstall will come in handy for breakfast and lunches for guests. Visit our website www.westcoastestate.co.za or for further information contact Ronel on 082 440 1927 or e-mail ronel@westcoastestate.co.za |
