Farmers Market @ Vyge Valley

Every last Saturday of the month a Fresh Produce Market will be held at Vyge Valley Farmstall. Wildflower Meander
Flora Group walks take place in the Reserves in and around Darling as follows:
Darling: the last Wednesday of each month. We meet at 9.30 am at the car park at the SPCA grounds and will decide where we go from there.
Yzerfontein: the first Wednesday of each month.
We explore the reserves for whatever is flowering that day, also to find anything new, and to discuss anything botanical as we go along. These are gently walks, so anyone can come along.
Last year we also included the reserves at Waylands, Oudepost and Tienie Versfeld where the displays are quite spectacular. Anyone is welcome!

CULINARY GETAWAYS ON CAPE TOWN'S DOORSTEP
The getaways are hosted by Debbie Mc Laughlin, an Internationally trained chef who has worked under Prue Leith and Guilliano Buggialli and who currently owns and runs the lodge as well as Hilda's Kitchen, the restaurant on the award winning wine farm Groote Post.
Trinity Lodge, a 4 star graded guest house in Darling will offer culinary getaways throughout the months of June until October.
The getaway takes up to 12 guests at a time and are run in the cosy, atmospheric Trinity Lodge kitchen. A combination of demonstrations and practicals, the courses are run for two days and guests can expect to learn to prepare items like a robust Roast Tomato and Aubergine Tart, Wintery dishes like a Lamb, mint and pea pie and a Pear and Polenta Cake. All dishes are explained in detail and recipes for each dish prepared are supplied.
The classes take place in the morning and late afternoons and other activities are set up during the day including golf, wine and olive tastings at local cellars and lunch at the historic Manor House at Groote Post, a Top 10 Alfresco retaurant. Visits to local galleries and crafters can be arranged as well as shows with Pieter-Dirk Uys at Evita se Perron.
With a few glasses of Darling's finest wine, the getaways are both informative and great fun and have become very popular so early booking is advised.
Cost: R1 750 per person inclusive of 2 nights B&B, 2 dinners, a wine tasting and a lunch and all tuition including recipes.

This family orientated rendezvous in the Main Road of Darling is open daily from 8 until late. Cafe Mosaic is a South African mix of the French Cafe de la Rue, the Dutch Coffee Bar, the German Strasse Kaffe and the English Pub.
