    Originally an old schoolmaster’s home, this guest house now boasts gleaming Oregon floors and lofty ceilings. It has been beautifully renovated to include 2 spacious bedrooms with the best in crisp white bed linen and soft pillows, and equally well groomed en suite bathrooms.

The air-conditioned guest lounge has an open fireplace for cozy winter evenings, and al fresco dining takes place on the paved terrace where you will be spoiled with homemade delights.

A full breakfast is included in the rates. Cape Country lunches and dinners are available on request with weekly specials and seasonal vegetables from the garden. This garden paradise is full of birds and even boasts a resident pair of Cape Eagle Owls.

The village is a walker’s dream filled with long country vistas and birdsong. It is well known for its charming museum, lovely old architecture and the theatre on the old Darling Station, Evita se Perron. Enjoy excellent wines on the Darling Wine Route.

Darling is a nature lover’s paradise in wildflower season (August – October) Close by are the West Coast National Park with Langebaan Lagoon, and Yzerfontein fishing village with it’s long walking beach, dolphins and whales.

The Victorian house is one of the first to be built in Darling. Loving restoration shows the beautiful wooden floors and ceilings.

We offer 3 double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Two rooms each have a private entrance from a veranda. There is a large stoep with a built-in braai. It’s a great place to eat breakfast. Cool off in the plunge pool in the heat of summer.

Springtime brings the wild flower show, not to be missed. 5 wineries nearby offer tasting of top quality wines.

address: Pastorie Street, Darling, 7345     The Old Pastorie is a beautiful 1865 manor house set in its own 100 acres of countryside, which includes a large dam which is home to a selection of interesting birds and wildlife. An idyllic setting of peace and tranquility.

The rooms are exceptionally large and there are 3 double rooms. The rooms are all tastefully furnished to a high standard and every room has a view over the gardens or the dam.

Animal friendly, but because of wildlife, certain restrictions will apply. Coffee making facilities in rooms. Deep plunge pool.
